Who we are
and how we can help
3XJohnson was founded by Guy Johnson in 2020 to provide independent architectural consultancy and design services to property owners and developers, building contractors and architects, individuals and community groups. The aim is to provide high quality design and construction advice based on extensive architectural experience going back over 35 years, and to improve and add value to projects through intelligent review and prescription.

Whether we are providing design feasibility reports, design proposals to support sale or purchase of buildings or land, additional resources for hard pressed architects and designers, construction design or tender appraisals, construction quality monitoring or 'simply' producing our own architectural designs through our 3XJ Studio, we are passionate about delivering for our clients everything that they expected and a bit more besides.

We also understand that the journey is often remembered as much as the destination and so we ensure that on every project we are supportive, constructive, collaborative and inclusive in our approach. After all we spend a lot of time working so we really ought to try to make it enjoyable.

Architectural Consultancy
3XJohnson exists to provide property owners, developers, contractors and other design consultants with intelligent, experienced and enthusiastic support in the delivery of higher quality, greater efficiency, reduced risk and added value in their projects and prospects.

Our projects, designs and experience
Over 35 years of grade A architectural design and delivery
Guy Johnson, the founder of 3XJohnson has spent his career to date working for two top UK architects and acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience which he now seeks to provide to clients through a more intimate and personally focused service.
From Greenwich View in the Isle of Dogs, back in 1984, to the concept design for London Bridge Station, which was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize in 2019, Guy has always sought to assist clients to deliver buildings of the highest quality and environmental integrity.
Now 3XJohnson will continue this story providing specialist commercial, residential and transport design consultancy to larger clients, contractors and architects, whilst
3XJ Studio focuses on small but perfectly formed design projects.

Supporting tpbennett llp architects
Having worked for tpbennett LLP for 32 years 3XJohnson are delighted to be continuing to provide design and architectural consultancy services to assist them with projects at all stages of development.

Delivering innovative solutions
If your project seems difficult or complex then don't worry. We are not phased by the unusual. One of Guy's more innovative commercial projects during his time at Richard Seifert and Partners involved constructing an entire office building over the water of Millwall dock. This unique project was carefully coordinated with the structural and services engineers and constructed on top of a raft piled from a barge.

Small commercial and social projects
A Landscape consultant wanted to own their own office and had acquired a site near Winchester. Guy designed a neat, sustainable and economic scheme which was then constructed though a design and build contract. This is the kind of small project which 3XJ Studio was set up to provide for individuals, companies or community groups who want to own their own space. (note that this project was created during Guy's time at tpbennett LLP)

Refurbishing and extending
This private residence was too small for a growing family. 3XJ Studio advised them on a sensitive extension to provide a much larger living space which allowed the uses of other rooms to be changed to provide an additional double bedroom. We also provided designs for a kitchen, cloakroom and bathroom refurbishment.
